Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.
Officers then found numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials say early analysis show the liquid was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.
City officials stated they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important representative stated the vandalism made him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.
"This incident hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
